The countdown is on to Black Friday, but some say it could be a big bust.

Some experts expect Americans to spend less this holiday shopping season.

A conference board survey found u-s households will spend, on average, less than 420 dollars on gifts.

That's down more than 50 dollars from last year.

They say shoppers will focus on more practical gifts like gas, bills and groceries.
