The Better Business Bureau is sending out a warning about online holiday scams.
Beware of pop ups that appear after you make an online purchase on a reputable site. They can look like a discount for the web site you're visiting, but it's really a third party marketing firm trying to enroll you in a fee-based buying club.
Other common holiday scams include holiday e-cards from people you don't know. Don't open them.
Be sure to do your homework before using online auction sites. Know how much they cost ahead of time.
Bank phishing emails will try to get your bank account or other personal information. The emails claim there's a problem with your account. The BBB says don't click on the links or provide them any information.
And charity scams are also prevalent during the holidays. The BBB says don't give money on the spot. Do some research so you know where your money's going.
