Publishers hoping e-books turn into a happy ending

Get ready for a whole new chapter in publishing history. Amazon-dot-com says on Christmas day... it sold more e-books than physical books... as people nation-wide unwrapped the company's huge-selling "Kindle" e-reader. As we hear from Daniel Sieberg... those books on your shelf... might soon be relics of the past.

It's a classic image... curling up by the fireplace with a good book. But it's not a book... It's a Nook.

The Nook, made by Barnes and Noble, is one of several e-book readers,..light weight they can hold as many as 15-hundred books.

The Nook joins the Kindle, Amazon.com's best selling digital reading device.

And it's not just books. The struggling newspaper and magazine industries are also hoping to turn the page and cash in.

But are e-readers here to stay?

Publishers are now waiting to see if THIS story... has a happy ending.
