North Carolina's agriculture department is pushing small food companies
to Facebook for new markets.
The Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services holds a
seminar Tuesday for small food companies looking for new ways to
promote and expand their businesses. Farmers and entrepreneurs get
a course on how new media tools like Twitter, Facebook and Google
alerts can help foodies find a company's goodies.
Producers also get a rundown on what they need to know about
meeting safety and tax laws while using the Internet to sell food
products.
