Consumer confidence is up this year, and AAA says that means so will Thanksgiving travel.
This year, travelers are expected to spend more than $700 for the trip, which is up from last year.
And there are changes in travel methods as well.
Even with higher gas prices, car travel is expected to go up 2.1% over last Thanksgiving.
Air travel is expected to decrease by 6.7%, even though flights are slightly more affordable this year.
AAA says their study looked at people travelling 50 miles or more.
The average mileage roundtrip this year is 815 miles.
