A new report shows consumer complaints rising across the country and the state.
The Better Business Bureau of eastern N.C. released its annual report on Monday. It indicates complaints increased by 9.7% last year.
Complaints about the cell phone industry topped the list with more than 30,000.
More than 32,000 complaints came in about the cable and satellite TV industry, putting it second on the list.
Banks rounded out the top three with roughly 29,000 complaints.
There was a similar trend for these businesses in eastern North Carolina.
