The 2010 Census has probably already hit your mailbox but now scam artists are using that to steal from you.
Nine On Your Side has some tips to help protect you.
The U.S. Census has a total of 10 questions. None of them should ask for your bank account information, credit card number, or social security number.
Keep in mind the U.S. Census will never contact you by e-mail. So stay away from links or attachments that claim to be from the Census Bureau.
If a person claiming to be with the U.S. Census visits your home, ask to see their identification and their badge before answering any questions.
Also, don't give out money or personal information to anyone you're not sure of.
