Local Groups Receive Grand-Opening Grants

As part of Walmart’s commitment to the local community, grants from the Walmart Foundation will be presented during the grand opening. The groups that will benefit are:

Greene County Interfaith Volunteers, Inc. Food Pantry, $1,000
Family Literacy, $1,000
Snow Hill Rural FireDepartment, $500

SNOW HILL, N.C. - Walmart plans to open its new Express Store October 19th.

The grand opening will happen at 8 a.m.

The smaller store promises convenient access with the same low prices every day that the retailer is known for. The 14,869-square-foot store will feature a pharmacy, offer groceries and general merchandise, including an assortment of fresh produce, dairy and meats, drygoods, consumables, health and beauty aids, over-the-counter medicines and more.

“We want to give our customers Walmart savings right in their own neighborhood, with low prices every day, on everything,” said store manager Danielle Palmer. “If you find a better price, we’ll match it. That means you can find what you need and save time, gas and money.”

Palmer has been with Walmart for six years. She was co-manager of the Walmart in Wilson before coming to the Snow Hill store.

“This is a wonderful store, and will give our customers name brands at a price they can afford,” said Palmer. “This store is very convenient for everyone in Greene County.”
