EAST ROCKAWAY, N.Y. (AP) - A Long Island, New York man has been accused of violently shaking his four-month-old daughter -- because her crying interrupted his video game.
Police in Nassau County say 20-year-old Kevin Calender of East Rockaway was playing his video game system late last week when the baby started crying. A detective says the baby's crying upset Calender so much, he shook the infant forcefully until she went unconscious.
As of Friday, the child was listed in critical condition. Meanwhile, Calender has pleaded not guilty to charges of reckless assault of a child. He's been ordered held without bail.
