LONDON (AP) - Amy Winehouse still won't be traveling to the U.S. for the Grammy Awards ceremony on Sunday -- even though her people say she's now been granted a visa.
Her request was initially turned down, so she had made plans to appear instead by satellite from London. Her representatives now say the visa has been granted, after additional discussions between the U.S. Embassy in London and officials in Washington. But they say that because of the logistics and the late notice, she won't be going to Los Angeles to perform in person.
Winehouse and her acclaimed "Back to Black" album are nominated for Grammys in six categories.
The retro-soul singer had a big hit with the autobiographical song "Rehab." Her own most recent rehab stint began two weeks ago.
She has canceled a slew of appearances amid reports of drug use, and she has a marijuana arrest on her record that could be used to keep her out of the United States. Her husband has also had his share of legal troubles.
