(AP) - After spending the past six months undergoing intensive therapy for anger issues resulting from childhood abuse, Billy Currington says he's ready to return to his music career.
He tells the Nashville Tennessean he feels better than ever. Currington worked with two therapists in Hawaii that specialize in childhood trauma. He says "It was very intensive and I wouldn't trade it for the world."
He says before therapy his life was "in an unhealthy place," and that he feels fortunate that he was "able to take that short break and look at my inner self and begin a journey to fix what I felt was broken." Currington says he's not a different person, just "a better person all around."
Currington says he's working on his next album and will begin touring in May.
