Slayer singer needs back surgery

UNDATED (AP) - Slayer singer Tom Araya is having back surgery today. The band's Web site reports Araya's injury is believed to be related to his on-stage activity. Slayer are dropping out of their appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" tomorrow. They also are postponing their Canadian tour with Megadeth, which was supposed to start Sunday. The band are releasing a new album today called "World Painted Blood." Guitarist Kerry King says the most important thing is Araya's health.
