PARIS (AP) - Vivendi SA says its Universal Music Group will get a new CEO from next year.
Lucian Grainge, who has been running Universal's business outside of North America, will take over from Doug Morris as head of the entire music group in January 2011, Vivendi said Wednesday in a statement.
Grainge will move to New York in July, when he and Morris will share the top spot for six months.
Vivendi CEO Jean-Bernard Levy said Grainge has the right experience in finding stars, growing revenues and building new business models to lead Universal as its migration into the digital era accelerates.
