WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. (AP) - Singer Doug Fieger of The Knack has died. His manager says Fieger died at his home outside Los Angeles yesterday after a battle with cancer. He was 57. The Knack's most famous song was "My Sharona," which Fieger wrote about a girlfriend. He said in a 1994 Associated Press interview he never knew a girl like her and she "induced madness" and "had an overpowering scent, and it drove me crazy." The real Sharona now sells high-end real estate in Los Angeles. "My Sharona" was a number-one song in 1979, and then re-entered the charts in 1994 after it was used in the movie "Reality Bites." The Knack also hit number-11 in 1979 with "Good Girls Don't."
