LONDON (AP) - For Sale: a piece of rock history.
There's word that music company EMI, which is strapped for cash, wants to sell Abbey Road studios in London, where The Beatles recorded some of their most famous songs.
A person familiar with the situation says talks have been going on for several months, but EMI hasn't found a buyer. There's been no comment from EMI.
Abbey Road has been one of the world's most famous music studios since the 1960s. Pink Floyd recorded "Dark Side of the Moon" there.
The crosswalk in front of the studio was immortalized on the cover of The Beatles' final studio album, 1969's "Abbey Road."
Potential buyers beware: The famous black-and-white crossing is not included in the deal.
