BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) - In the future, Oscar voters could make their choices online instead of mailing a paper ballot. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is joining with a company called Everyone Counts to come up with an electronic voting system for next year's Academy Awards. While the world has gone digital the motion picture academy has remained paper-bound. Every year, its accountants hand-tally the ballots of nearly 6,000 academy members. When asked in the past about switching to online voting, they've said their concern is security. Everyone Counts has worked with the U.S. State Department and Britain's Justice Ministry.
