It's one thing many people dread -- jury duty.

If you don't show up, you could go to jail.

Identity thieves are hoping they can trick you into thinking you actually missed it.

Now, an online warning is hitting inboxes everywhere.

The e-mail says someone claiming to be a jury coordinator calls you because you missed jury duty.

They ask you to verify your social security number and date of birth to cancel an arrest warrant issued against you because you didn't show up.

This online head's up is the real deal and the scam's been verified in at least 11 states.

Even the FBI and Federal Court Systems are issuing nationwide warnings.

If someone calls you in reference to this, don't give them any personal information.

If you're concerned you may have actually missed jury duty, contact your local clerk of court.

For more information on the scam, just type in the Keywords: Just Delete It right here on our website.

Thanks to Vickie for passing this one along.
