It's peak flu season in the east, according to Pitt County Memorial Hospital. As it's reporting an increase in flu cases, the hospital is now asking people who have flu symptoms to not visit its building. I went to the hospital today and found that the staff has posted a sign near the main entrance stating that people with symptoms like nausea, sore throats and coughing, should not enter the building. Last year during flu season the hospital had to limit the number and ages of visitors, but it has not been quite as severe a crackdown this year. It's not too late to get a flu shot, just visit your local doctor; they are still effective.
