ECU is now one step closer to having it's own dental school.
They broke ground at the future site of the school today.
State lawmakers approved the school in July of last year.
ECU says of the 100 counties in our state - 85 are rural and 4 of those rural counties don't have dentist at all.

The first class of 50 student dentists will start classes as early as 2011.
That means ECU’s first class of dentists will graduate in 2015.
