We’ve heard about the shortage of doctors for the people in the East.
But there's a partnership between Pitt County Memorial Hospital and the Brody School of Medicine to help fix that.
The school only admits North Carolina residents, in an effort to train and keep more primary care physicians in the area.
A study from the Association for American Medical Colleges shows that almost 50 percent of medical students stay in the area in which they trained.
