LOS ANGELES (AP) - "Fireproof" continues to draw crowds after a month in limited release.
The latest film from Sherwood Baptist Church of Albany, Georgia, stars Kirk Cameron as a firefighter who turns to God to save his marriage through a 40-day program called "The Love Dare."
According to studio estimates, "Fireproof" was 11th in overall earnings this past weekend, but ranked 5th in earnings per theater where it was shown.
Adding another $2,600,000 in ticket sales, "Fireproof" has now earned close to $21 million at the box office -- more than 40 times what it cost to produce.
And "The Love Dare" -- a book that was initially just a plot device -- is now No. 1 on the New York Times paperback advice best-seller list, and is No. 10 among all books listed on Amazon.
