ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - One of the Reverend Billy Graham's daughters says he now has difficulty seeing, hearing and walking, but is still clear-minded and quick to pray about current events.
Anne Graham Lotz spoke about her father in an interview with KTIS, the Christian radio station he launched with prayer 60 years ago in Minnesota's Twin Cities.
As Graham approaches his 91st birthday in November, Lotz says, "He struggles a little bit, I think, with a sense of purpose." She says she tells her father that "God has left him here" for a reason -- perhaps to become more Christlike as he intercedes in prayer for a troubled world.
She's quick to add that Billy Graham isn't depressed and "doesn't have a death wish," although he deeply misses his wife of almost 50 years and looks forward to seeing her in heaven.
Ruth Bell Graham died in June 2007.
