So what do you do with all the boxes and bags those books and presents came in?

You can Make It Green by recycling them.

Most of the boxes and paper and other trimmings can be recycled.

Counites differ on the rules of how to recycle.

Pitt County, for instance, makes it relatively easy.

They take everything from cooking oil to Christmas trees.

Trees go in one bin and clean corrogated cardboard goes in another.

"We also have a bin on site for newspaper and a bin for co-mingle. In the co-mingle bin belongs glass bottles, our plastic bottles, tin and steel cans, aluminum cans. Also items such as phone books, catalogs mangazines and your paperboard items," said Paula Clark, Pitt County Recycling Coordinator.

Most dump centers are open until six each night.
