INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Indiana and Tennessee are among the first states that will vaccinate people against the swine flu.
Health officials in both states scheduled events Monday in Indianapolis and Memphis to administer nasal mist doses of the swine flu vaccine to doctors, nurses, emergency medical workers and other health care professionals who work directly with patients.
Initial shipments of the nasal mist vaccine are so small that in most cases they're being reserved for health workers so the workers remain healthy and can care for and vaccinate others.
Each of the sites in Memphis and Indianapolis has received about 100 doses of the first vaccine available to inoculate people against the virus, which has been blamed for hundreds of deaths since it was first identified in April.
