A California woman has launched a unique online search for a husband.
Not for love... But for healthcare.
CBS News correspondent Randall Pinkston has the story.
45-year-old Terri Carlson says she doesn’t care what you look like, she'll marry you....but only if you have good health insurance.
As a mother and housewife for 24 years, Carlson never had to worry about healthcare...until now. She is divorced and has one year left under COBRA health coverage--but after that, she will have nothing to help pay for numerous doctors appointments and dozens of medications.
Carlson suffers from a rare genetic disorder called C-4 Complement Deficiency.
The San Diego, California native works part-time from home, but her employer does not provide healthcare. And because of her disorder, insurance companies have denied her coverage.
Last week, she turned to the internet for help... And the public has responded--with more than 5,000 emails and counting from people all over the world.
