A Place To Call Home

Every week Nine On Your Side introduces you to a number of kids who are waiting for loving families to adopt them.

But there are a lot of misconceptions when it comes to adoption.

Nine On Your Side’s Carley Wegner puts some of those myths to rest and explains how giving a child a place to call home starts with a simple phone call.

Dusitn, Keith, Brandon, & Samaj, they are just a few of the three thousand kids across our state that are just waiting for a family.

Tracey Starling is a recruiter for the Children’s Home Society.  She helps match foster kids with families.

But the truth is there are many misconceptions that keep many families from adopting.  The first is money.

Tracey also says because each child is an individual.  Many different types of families are needed.

Because again, there are more than three thousand children looking for a place to call home.
