Jacksonville Police tell Nine On Your Side that a proactive patrol resulted in an arrest of a man on felony larceny and possession of stolen goods.

It’s happened overnight in Jacksonville.

Authorities say two officers observed a vehicle exiting an area located between Brynn Marr Body Shop and Ramsey Heating and Air Conditioning Services.

When they stopped the vehicle, they found that it contained a large amount of scrap metal.  The driver, 49 year old Johnny Pruett, said he had permission to remove the scrap metal from the businesses.  Owners of the businesses told authorities Pruett didn’t have permission to remove the scrap metal.

Pruett was charged with Felony Larceny and Possession of Stolen Goods and is under a $2,000 secured bond in the Onslow County Jail.
