The ripple effect from the economic blowout has hit one company in the east.
Because of a drop in demand, Aurora-based PCS Phosphates says it’s reducing production at several plants dealing with sulfuric and phosphoric acids.
The company hopes the reduction will only last through the end of next month.
By cutting production, they won’t need to layoff workers.
PCS Phosphates in Beaufort County employs more than one thousand people.
