Jay Oldaker will spend the next 12 1/2 years in jail for his part in the death of a Jacksonville homeless man. Today, a judge sentenced Oldaker, the third man convicted of murdering Michael Kozak ,to 12 1/2 to 16 years behind bars. Oldaker struck a plea deal in February by pleading guilty to second degree murder. Jacksonville Police say he and two others, Jason Blackmon and Dustin Newcome, beat Kozak to death behind the Piney Green Shopping Plaza in June 2008. Newcome and Blackmon were already sentenced.

A man who pleaded guilty in the brutal death of a homeless man will find out his punishment today.
Jay Oldaker will be sentenced in an Onslow County courtroom this afternoon.
Oldaker pleaded guilty in connection with Michael Kozak’s death.
Oldaker is the last of three defendants to be sentenced.
Jason Blackmon, Dustin Newcome, and Oldaker all admit to beating Kozak and slashing his stomach open with a jagged beer bottle at his homeless camp.
Oldaker’s sentencing is scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
