Red, White and Blue Bagels: Showing Support for...
Bruegger?s Bagel shop in Greenville has baked up a bunch of red, white and blue-colored bagels for the holiday.
With the Independence Day weekend here many things are getting the patriotic red white and blue treatment, even food. Bruegger’s Bagel shop in Greenville has baked up a bunch of red, white and blue-colored bagels for the holiday. Some soldiers from Fort Bragg preparing to deploy stopped by to try them out. They were in town to pick up some extra supplies from the give to the troops center. They say support from the public is important to these men and women, and it’s the little things that matter.
Private First Class Jeremy is a Fort Bragg Soldier who is deploying soon. He says “It’s hard to describe in words but it’s a great feeling to know there are organizations out there that exist to provide us with a better way of living and a little piece of home to take with us.”
Visitors to Bruegge’rs could also write notes to troops to be included in those packages; they picked up the last batch today. You can get the red, white and blue bagels through Saturday.
Folks at the Golden Living Center in Greenville are showing their support for troops fighting overseas. They made a banner with the theme “Let Freedom Ring” for Independence Day. The banner is on display now and will be shipped overseas to Iraq to go on display there later. Staff and others say it’s a great way to say thanks to the troops.
