The Jones County Sheriff’s Office tells Nine On Your Side that two of the stray pit bulls that they were looking for have been killed.

They say a County Animal Rabies Officer shot and killed one of the dogs.  The other was killed by a resident of the neighborhood.

Authorties are currently waiting on rabies test results for two of the dogs.

The first dog’s rabies test has come back negative.

They believe the second dog may have been shot in the head, which would hinder getting the test completed.  However, they have sent the sample to the lab.

They are still waiting on the test results from the third dog.

The Sheriff’s Office believes they have now taken care of all the dogs that attacked Gladys Roberts.
