Doc Bradley Hall

For decades our corpsmen have trained in a facility built in the 1950’s aboard Camp Johnson. However, today ground was broken for “Doc Bradley Hall”. This state of the art facility will allow navy corpsmen to practice in a casualty simulation laboratory getting the very best education on how to save marines.

The new building is named after Doc Jack Bradley. Bradley was one of the corpsmen captured holding up the American flag on Iwo Jima.

Instructors say the new facility will better prepare corpsmen to help their fellow marines. Captain Efren Saenz says, “When the time comes and one of his comrades, a fellow marine or sailor is injured, the loyalty and devotion to that individual is just exponentially large.“

The Naval Facilities Engineering Command awarded Field Medical Training Battalion East nearly $8 million to build the facility. It is expected to open in December of 2009.
