Caught on Tape: TX Woman Robbed

The video easily makes you angry.

An elderly woman attacked, robbed, dragged and left on the ground.

The men who did it ran away.

Dorothy Thompson of University Park has her purse back and several bruises to go along with it.

The 76-year-old was outside Prima Care Medical Clinic last week on East Mockingbird when two men casually walked by. One of them suddenly lunged forward and grabbed her purse. But Thompson refused to go quietly. She grabbed the door and clutched her handbag. The second man fled while Thompson’s attacker violently yanked her to the ground.

Thompson says a witness in a pick-up truck chased the purse snatcher who was on foot.

Police say both men got away; leaving the 76-year-old a bit on edge.

This isn’t Thompson’s first run in with violent criminals. She’s had a purse stolen once before and even had a gun pointed at her.

A total stranger returned the purse the next day. Of course, the credit cards and money were long gone. Looking back, Thompson admits she should have reacted differently, but says she just couldn’t help herself.
