Our story about a proposal to ban cell phone use while driving got some response this week. The biggest problems is, a legislative committee changed the bill to allow drivers to use their cell phones to talk with their families that turned out to be controversial and it drew an angry response from one viewer.
“I think it’s pretty stupid for them to say, that it’s alright to call a family member. You can have an accident just as well talking to a family member as you can a friend or a neighbor down the road. What is wrong with these people, these telephones need to be banned completely with the driver in an automobile.“
And on our story about two men who plan to open a micro brewery at an old factory in downtown Kinston, we got this response:
Robert McLamb wrote:
“A brewery in Kinston is a bad idea. Regardless how the economy is struggling, adding a brewery will be more of a moral issue and less of a job opportunity.”
I also got this email from Ricky Moore, who says he noticed the temperature drops to its lowest point just before the sun comes up, more so in the winter than in the summer. He wants to know why so we turned to chief meteorologist Phillip Williams.

There has been much comment from both civilian and military sources regarding the situation surrounding Cpl. Hector Laurean and his atempts at fighting extradition to the US. I am under the assumption that the Mexican authorities have been assured of a “Non Death Penalty” if extradition is granted. Questions: (1) If innocent why doesn’t Laurean return and provide evidence as to his innocence and (2) why has the Marine Corps not officially charged him with AWOL and followed up on that to return him to his duty station for answer the charge? Just curious as I assume AWOL is still a standing charge. Maybe I missed something regarding these areas.
Why would you put a boat downtown in the middle of nowhere. For our children to be able to see this artifact and have opportunity to learn from it we need to keep it and the children in place big enough for parking; getting in and out of the facility without harm especially traffic. We need to keep it where it is and make better access to it for our children and sitseers to learn from it. I have taken several groups of children to where it is now. The space seemed just fine for viewing and getting information. It just needs to be closed in more which wouldn’t take as much to update the building it is in now.
I’ve watched your newscast for many years, lately the show seems to start before 6pm. When I turn to your channel at 6pm, it’s already started, missing the beginning of your show.
Why the change?
Will we ever hear any stories about Prs. Obama’s constitutional eligibilty to hold the office concerning his plac of birth?
