Hulk Hogan wanted to be Metallica’s bass player

CHICAGO (AP) - Metallica could have picked up a bassist AND a bouncer if they had just returned Hulk Hogan’s call. Hogan played bass with different bands back in the day. He tells the Chicago Tribune he called Metallica to offer his services when they were looking for a bassist. He says he “would have quit wrestling in a heartbeat to be a bass player for Metallica.“ The band never called back. He also tried to get his name in the running when the Rolling Stones needed a bassist, but they never called either.
