BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) - An atheist group will be allowed to post ads that say “You can be good without God” on city buses in Bloomington, Indiana.
The Bloomington Public Transportation Corporation initially said the proposed ads violated its advertising policy, which bans statements for or against “controversial public issues.“
The Indiana Atheist Bus Campaign filed a federal lawsuit in May.
Under a settlement announced this week, the transit corporation agrees to post the ads for the usual rates and to reimburse the ACLU of Indiana for legal expenses.
