The heating system in part of the Greenville Community Shelter broke yesterday.  Workers had to hand out extra blankets and coats to those in the men’s dorm to help them stay warm.

Today, workers are fixing the system so they can turn the heat back to normal.

The shelter is at near capacity.  Officials say it’s important for people to find relief from the cold.

“It’s important that they find shelter, now granted we only have a few beds left, but we are partnered up and we coordinate with other agencies, the Salvation Army and Social Services when we get full to see where we can find a place for them in such cold weather when we are at capacity.“ said Jeff Swartz, Greenville Community Shelter.

You can donate supplies to the shelter as well.

They’re in need of non-perishable foods, clothes and blankets.
