Community Builders: “Honor & Remember”
It’s a new symbol to honor those who paid the ultimate price for our country.
Now, one group is urging the government to make it a national symbol.
In today’s Community Builders, the group called “Honor and Remember” came up with the flag to pay tribute to the men and women killed in combat.
Founder George Lutz was in Ayden this weekend to recognize the new state chapter of the group.
Kathy Moore runs the state’s chapter.
Her son, Ryan Russel, died when a roadside bomb exploded in Iraq two years ago.
“There’s more people then you think that are interested but they just don’t know. So that’s part of the basic task that we have and that’s getting the information out, informing people letting them know that this exists,“ says Kathy Moore, NC Honor and Remember Director.
