Should it look like New York’s Central Park in the middle of Greenville.
On Monday night the City of Greenville’s planning team held the first of four listening sessions to find out what residents want to see added to the town common along the Tar River.
The city has been expanding the 13-acre park since 1970.
Planners and developers say they need to do more to keep up with the city’s redevelopment plan.
But is now the time to be spending money on this?
City planner Carl Rees said, “Right now there’s no question cuts to the federal, state and local level are very tight…As funds become available over the year if there’s actual construction projects…we can then move forward with that as funds become available.“
The next input session is scheduled for April 14th.
