Morehead City, NC- Jesse Dail, named in April as the Northeastern District Rookie of the Year, has now gone on to capture statewide attention.  At the North Carolina Public Health Association gathering in New Bern, September 23-26, Jesse won the NC Rookie of the Year award in recognition of his work and commitment to public health.

In their nomination letter, Supervisor Troy Dees and other Environmental Health staff described Jesse as “…a very motivated intern who strives to attain knowledge and skills, and is always a responsible and enthusiastic team player.”

Jesse works in Food, Lodging and Institutional Sanitation, Children’s Environmental Health and Public Pool Programs.  He is completing certification in the Well and On Site Programs.  In addition, he works in the Health Department’s water lab, teaches ServSafe classes and is involved in preparedness trainings.

A 2002 graduate from UNC-Asheville, Jesse has a BS degree in Atmospheric Science.  He joined the staff of the Carteret County Health Department in 2006.
