(AP) - Stock prices are opening the week on a positive note following last week's drubbing.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 41 points in today's early going.
The Nasdaq Composite Index is ahead three points and the Standard-and-Poor's 500 Stock Index is up six points.
The move to higher ground is fueled by speculation that the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates later this month to ward off a recession.
There's not much corporate or economic news expected during the session. Instead, investors are looking toward a speech later in the week from Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke for clues about the central bank's intentions.
