JPD arrest two for armed robbery

Jacksonville Police tell Nine On Your Side that they’ve arrested two in connection with an armed robbery.

It happened Thursday afternoon around 1:30 PM on Onslow Drive.

Authorities say that the victim reported he’d been robbed at knife point by two black males.  A search of the area resulted in the arrest of one without incident.  The other was later identified during the course of an investigation and he was also arrested without incident.

Detectives say that the supects were conducting a drug transaction when they attempted to rob the the victim.

Ontario Lamont Gainey, Jr., and Sevaughn Dyrese Mines are being held under secured bond at the Onslow County Jail.

The victim of the armed robbery was also arrested for possession of marijuana and released under $500 unsecured bond.
