Man wanted in Roanoke Rapids shooting turns himself in

The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office tells Nine On Your Side that a man wanted in connection with a shooting has turned himself in.

Authorities say Marquis Jarvis Whitmore surrendered to them at the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office on Monday.

Whitmore was wanted in connection with the shooting at the Green Store on Highway 48 outside Roanoke Rapids on October 12th.

Whitmore is charged with Assault With A Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury, Attempted Robbery With A Dangerous Weapon, and Discharge Weapon into Occupied Property, Possession of A Stolen Firearm and Possession of A Firearm by a Felon.
He’s under a $25,000.00 bond.  Whitmore’s court date is scheduled for November 18, 2009.
