A couple from Newport are charged with Felony Larceny this morning.

The Carteret County Sheriff’s Office says Alexander Scott Talbot was visiting Laura Leigh Horne, who was house sitting for her grandparents.  When they left the home, they took a .40 Caliber handgun and flat screen TV from the residence.

They were later arrested and placed in the Carteret County Jail under a combined $15,000 bond for charges of Felony Larceny.

Talbot posted bond, but was rearrested early Monday morning when deputies found him in possession of the stolen handgun. The TV was also recovered.  He’s been additionally charged with Possession of a Firearm by a convicted Felon and Possession of Stolen Property.

Talbot was given an additional $5000.00 bond.

The pair are scheduled for a first court appearance Monday.
