Suspects wanted in Martin County robbery spotted in Greenville

Two suspects wanted in Martin County are spotted in Greenville. 

The Pitt County Sheriff’s Office says these suspects were wanted for a robbery that happened last night in Hassell.
   
Investigators say they along with a third suspect robbed an 80 year old man of some cash and even tried to tie him up.           
   
The suspects were spotted off Greenville Boulevard along Brownlea Drive this afternoon.

“One suspect was picked up over in Martin County this morning was being questioned a witness who happened to be here spotted these two suspects could identify them from the robbery last night alerted the sheriff’s office,“ says Pitt County Sheriff Mac Manning.

Deputies responded and after chasing one of the suspects on foot they were taken into custody.

The suspects include Andrew Roberson, Denzel Brown and Shawn Dempsey.

They are charged with felony breaking and entering, robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of stolen goods and kidnapping.

They are at the Bertie Martin Regional Jail.
 
Sheriff Mac Manning says some of his deputies were involved in the Martin County robbery investigation since they are answering calls for the sheriff’s office there as they deal with their loss.
