Skeleton Remains Recovered Identified

Sheriff Wayne Gay announced today the skeleton remains recovered 12-18-07 off of Walter Ave. in Saratoga have been positively identified through dental records. The Department of Anthropology of ECU and the State Medical Examiners Office out of Greenville identified the remains found, those of Jose Palemon Lopez, Hispanic male, 32 years of age. Lopez was reported missing to the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office on June 2, 2006. The Medical Examiner listed the cause of death as undetermined at this time. Lt. Danny Bailey is working with the Medical Examiners Office in trying to determine what happen to Lopez.

Sheriff Gay is asking anyone who may of seen Lopez between 5-19-06 and 6-2-06 at or near the Handy Mart in Saratoga to call Lt. Bailey at the Sheriff’s Office 252-237-2118.
