The American Cancer Society sponsored a charity bowling tournament for Farmville’s Relay for Life.
It’s the first time the group raised money from a bowling tournament.
Proceeds will go to cancer research.
About a dozen people took part in the event.
“The strides that we have made in research affects everyone, just like mammography and that sort of thing. Research brought that around. So, as we are raising money we are fighting cancer and eliminating it. So that’s why we do it,“ said Carol West, of the American Cancer Society.
Saturday’s bowling event raised more than $600 for the American Cancer Society.
