Boy’s death Monday an accident, no word on charges

The Onslow County Sheriffs Office is officially calling the shooting death of a three year old boy an accident.

It happened at a home on Rutherford Way in Onslow County on Monday morning.
   
The child managed to find his fathers loaded gun.  It went off and a bullet hit him in the head.   
   
The child’s father is a civilian police officer at Camp Lejeune.

No word yet on whether there will be charges.
