A plucky day for a turkey in the east, it’s headed to the White House!

President Barack Obama announced he’s giving a presidential pardon to Courage, Wednesday in the annual ceremony.

Courage was raised on the Worley Family Farm in Princeton in Johnston County.

After the pardon, Courage will fly to Disneyland to serve as grand marshal of the annual Thanksgiving Day parade there.

Courage is the ninth turkey from our state to receive the presidential pardon.
