Clean-up continues along the Outer Banks and Governor Bev Perdue was on hand to check out the damage and progress.

Governor Perdue toured the overwash areas of Highway 12 near Rodanthe.

The remnants of Tropical Storm Ida wreaked havoc on the road, making it impassable between the Oregon Inlet and Rodanthe.

Good news today though, D.O.T. officials say they opened one lane this afternoon to two-way traffic.

No word yet on a timetable for a full road restoration.
